Learning a new skill or further developing an existing one, whilst also taking time out for yourself in a relaxing, friendly and creative environment during our furniture painting workshop. Over the course of the day, our furniture painting workshop will help you learn a range of key skills, including preparation, a variety of painting techniques and detailing such as distressing, crackle glazing, decoupage and stencilling. Additionally, you’ll learn the best ways to finish your item, including waxing and sealing.
We will start the day focusing on learning the techniques you will need to complete your project by trying them out on a number of test pieces before we move on to spend the rest of the day on your project piece.
All paints, waxes, finishing products, brushes, stencils and practice pieces will be provided. For your project piece, you will need to bring a small item you wish to paint. This could be a small piece of wooden furniture such as a stool, side table, lamp base, chest or mirror, or a decorative item such as a wooden bowl, picture frame(s), jewellery box, candlestick/holder…. If you would like any advice on the best items to bring, please contact Amanda on 07793 553150 or amanda@restor8iv.com.
At the end of the session, not only will you have completed your project piece, but you’ll have the skills and confidence to tackle your next project!
Teas, coffees, soft drinks and cake will be provided. Please bring lunch with you. Please wear old clothes that don’t matter if you get paint on. We will provide aprons, but just in case!
