Have you ever wanted to learn how to make your own Lampshade? This workshop combines both block printing and lampshade making, and you aren't required to have previous experience with either!
The first half of the day will be spent block printing, you will be given a full demonstration and have time to practice with various designs and colours, learning printing techniques as you progress. Once confident, you will start working on a design idea, printing test pieces of fabric to sample your chosen design.
After lunch you will move onto printing the final piece of fabric for the lampshade, once dry you will be shown how to attach the fabric to the lampshade panel and how to roll this into your lamp or ceiling shade. You will also be shown how to neatly finish your lampshade in a professional way.
All materials are included in the price of the workshop, you'll be able to choose whether you make a ceiling or a lamp shade, either 15cm, 20cm & 30cm drum shades will be available.
Refreshments such as Tea, Coffee, Cake will be available, please bring a packed lunch with you as it's a full day workshop! If time allows at the end of the workshops guests can purchase an additional item to print such as a Tea Towel/Tote Bag.
