2-Part Clay Workshop with Indian Printing Blocks

Would you like to explore working with clay? Our 2-part workshop is a wonderful introduction to working with clay and using Indian printing blocks to create beautiful, imprinted patterns. Over the course of the workshop, you’ll explore various hand-building techniques and create a selection of ceramic items to use or display. The finished pieces will be durable, dishwasher-safe ceramics.

Due to the clay needing time to dry and be fired between stages, the workshop will run over two sessions spaced four weeks apart.

Workshop Details

Part 1: Tuesday 29th April

In this session, you’ll learn a variety of hand-building techniques and use wooden printing blocks to create patterns. You’ll make a selection of items, including:

  • 4 x Decorations
  • 6 x Tiles/Coasters
  • 1 x Trinket Pot
  • 1 x Pinch Pot
  • 1 x Platter/Plate

Your clay pieces will then be left to dry and fired in the kiln, ready for the second session.

Part 2: Wednesday, 14th May

Your bisque-fired clay pieces will be ready for painting during this session. Using ceramic paints, you’ll decorate your items, giving them a personal touch. Afterward, the pieces will be glazed and fired again. Finished items will be available for collection from our studio or can be posted to you.
