Block Printing & Lampshade Making Workshop
Ever wanted to create your own lampshade? This workshop combines the art of block printing with the craft of lampshade making—no prior experience needed!
Morning Session: Block Printing
The day begins with a full demonstration of block printing techniques. You’ll have time to experiment with various designs and colors, practicing your skills and building confidence. Once you’re ready, you’ll start working on a design concept, creating test pieces of fabric to refine your chosen pattern.
Afternoon Session: Lampshade Making
After a break for lunch, you’ll move on to printing your final fabric piece for the lampshade. Once the fabric is dry, you’ll learn how to attach it to a lampshade panel and transform it into a beautiful drum shade for a lamp or ceiling fitting. We’ll guide you through professional finishing techniques to ensure a polished result.
What’s Included:
- All materials, including fabric, block printing tools, and lampshade-making supplies
- Choice of lampshade size: 15cm, 20cm, or 30cm drum shade for either a ceiling or lamp fitting
- Refreshments: Tea, coffee, and cake
Additional Information:
- Please bring a packed lunch, as this is a full-day workshop.
- If time allows at the end of the day, you can choose an additional item to print such as a tea towel or tote bag.
